Another great service I have came across is ping.fm for management of your social media efforts. By posting through ping.fm, it allows you to post to create groups in order to post to multiple sites at the same time.

Having a gravatar is a great branding tool, for sure, and these are helpful instructions. Plus, if you want to take an active part in discussion online, it’s better to give yourself a unique presence. I find myself reading comments with images much more readily than those with the “mystery man” icon or – worse still – a blank space!

Hey Jeffrey,

To answer your question, a lot of my clients have had success with Kudzu,Yelp and Yahoo Local. However reviews on Google places are indexed and show first on search results. The problem you may have with Google Places is that users will need to have a gmail account to post reviews. Most users don’t have a gmail and may not want to sign up for an account. In this case the next best place to post reviews in my opinion would be Yahoo Local, Yelp, and City Search. Hope this answers your question.

Where do you recommend that people go to write reviews. Google Places has many problems with reviews these days but thats where reviews count the most. 3rd party directory reviews will eventually show up on Google Places. Which of these do you suggest – Yelp? Citysearch? Yellowbot? Thanks!
